Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
A: Prior to joining Pelco, I served in a variety of leadership and engineering roles within Schneider Electric and other technology companies. I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, then started my career with Schneider Electric in Power Controls – specifically Merlin Gerin - as a Mechanical Engineer. My family and I moved to the USA 20 years ago, first to Texas for Crouzet Automation North America as a Sales Manager and then to California for Crydom Relays. I became General Manager – CEO of Crydom in 2009, then had roles as GM at increasing size businesses, at CST and Sensata Technologies. On a personal level my interests are cycling, running and swimming – I’ve done a few triathlons. My family and I have dual American and French citizenship and we will relocate to the Clovis area in a few months.
Q: What do you find most interesting about the surveillance industry?
This is an industry with tremendous growth opportunity. As safety and security concerns continue to heighten around the world, we must continually improve our products and services to provide solutions that address these concerns. Across multiple segments – from perimeter concerns at airports, to detection of undesirable behavior at a casino, to increasing operational efficiencies on an oil rig – there is a plethora of opportunities for meaningful innovation. The new science of security goes beyond simply managing data; it requires a convergence of data, video and analytics from multiple platforms to enable actionable and proactive decisions. Constraints in privacy and cybersecurity will also intensify and our customers will challenge us to deliver solutions that keep the user and their data secure. I am excited by the opportunities this industry presents to Pelco, as we continue to evolve and deliver greater value to end users. We are committed to providing solutions that will leverage the data from diverse systems to meet the needs of the most demanding markets.

Our theme line, “moving ahead, by your side”, is a true representation of the situation at Pelco right now.

As we continue to move forward together, Pelco is getting closer than ever to our end-user base. With an intensified focus on our core markets, we are improving operational efficiency by opening our video management systems to enable correlation of data from third party systems and products. We can expect a trend in adopting integrations that provide meaningful analytics for our customers. Pelco is creating opportunities to interact and learn from our core markets so that we can proactively deliver solutions for the most challenging applications.
Q: What are your thoughts on what Pelco has done in 2017?
2017 has been a pivotal year for Pelco. We’ve made huge strides in refining our internal operations, technology research and development, marketing strategies and corporate vision. We’ll look back at the foundation that was laid in 2017 and see it as a defining step in propelling Pelco forward for the next five years and beyond.
Q: How is Pelco differentiating itself from the competition?
The fast-changing landscape of the security industry will always dictate what trends and products get the spotlight. With more manufacturers in the space and more options to choose from, the innovation gap will continuously be blurred and sometimes indistinguishable. The one true way to differentiate yourself is to consistently put the customer first by producing quality products that solve their major pain points. As we continue to develop partnerships with leaders in various market segments, we will always look to create innovation that addresses the biggest struggles faced by our customers. This focus on the customer has always been Pelco’s legacy and we will continue to honor it moving forward.
Q: What does the future of Pelco hold?
The future looks bright. As a company, Pelco has experienced challenges; we have worked through them and come out better on the other end. We have a laser-focused mindset to produce some of the highest quality products the industry has seen. We will continuously improve and adopt the latest technologies to deliver solutions that protect the safety and assets of our customers. Combine this focus with our commitment to deliver the best customer service in the industry – and it’s a winning formula. Our best years are ahead of us and it’s exciting.
